This blend beans is totally as same as the Halloween blend. We keep this recipe due to that it's so welcome and has so featured flavor.
The reason of choosing these three beans as a blend, because they all have their own characteristics, and also can complement each other.First, the taste of three beans both have strong body, especially the Aceh-Mandheling is more outstanding, then the two beans from Brazil, one present as a traditional sun dry processed beans fruity and viscous feeling, the other one is to show the excellent toffee or caramel flavor. But in this Halloween blend, in order to highlight the thrill of the beans, we adjusted all the three beans' roast type, although not directly used the most comfortable type for as single beans, but the effect of the blended together do let us shocked, the blend of bean showed prominent bittersweet and mellow taste, the wood and soil feature of the Mandheling not only isn't annoying, but it become the beans addictive qualities, the several kinds of taste interweave together to form the beans typical heavy taste flavor, the crema is also very rich, very suitable for espresso, also suitable for siphon pot to heat extraction, or pour over with flannel filter.
Brew tips:
Best for espresso,especially mixed with milk, smooth and sweet.
Siphon is a good choice too.Also have to try the flannel filter to pour over.
The ratio of beans and water is in the range of 1:15~1:16.The temp. is between 185~190°F.Adjust the ratio and temp. to find out the best cup for yourself.
